Spendor
Spendor was established in the late 1960s by Spencer and Dorothy Hughes, whose initials, 'Spen' and 'Dor,' gave the company its name. Spencer, drawing from his engineering background in the BBC's sound engineering department, developed the inaugural BC1 loudspeaker. This groundbreaking design swiftly gained popularity as the preferred monitor in global broadcasting and recording studios. All Spendor loudspeakers are meticulously crafted within the UK. The assembly of each loudspeaker occurs at their Sussex production facility, with all components and cabinets fine-tuned through an in-house R&D program.
